Heating up the oven for the
first time and rinsing the steam
injection system
New ovens can give off an unpleasant
smell on first use. Heating up the oven
for at least 1 hour with nothing in it will
get rid of this smell.
It is a good idea to rinse the steam
injection system at the same time.
Ensure that the kitchen is well
ventilated while the appliance is
being heated up for the first time.
Close doors to other rooms to
prevent the smell spreading
throughout the house.
^ Remove any protective wrapping and
sticky labels from the oven.
^ Before heating up the oven, it is a
good idea to wipe the interior out with
a damp cloth first. This way any dust
or bits of packaging that may have
accumulated in the oven
compartment during storage and
unpacking will be removed.
