Problem
The descaling pro‐
gramme was started by
mistake.
Loud noises are heard
during the descaling
programme.
The display lights up
but the coffee machine
does not heat up and
no drinks are made.
The drinking vessel be‐
ing used is repeatedly
not recognised by the
automatic spout adjust‐
ment.
The central spout low‐
ers until it touches the
top of the cup or glass
and cup protection
switch-off is activated.
Cup protection switch-
off does not work. The
central spout lowers
until it touches the top
of the vessel and the
cleaning container or
another vessel gets
caught between the
central spout and the
drip tray.
Possible cause and remedy
The descaling programme cannot be stopped once
the OK sensor has been touched.
Descaling must be continued through to completion.
This is a safety precaution to make sure the machine
is descaled correctly. This is important for the longev‐
ity and functional efficiency of your coffee machine.
Descale the coffee machine (see "Descaling").
This is not a fault.
These noises occur when water is flushed through
the machine at a high pressure.
The Demo mode of the coffee machine for Miele Cen‐
ters or Chartered Agents has been activated.
Deactivate the Demo mode (see "Settings - Demo
mode").
The container is unsuitable for the cup sensing sys‐
tem.
Use cups or glasses that are suitable for automat‐
ic spout adjustment.
There is a fault with the automatic spout adjustment.
Switch the machine off with the On/Off sensor.
Wait for approx. 2 minutes before switching it
back on again.
Use another drinking vessel and prepare a drink.
If cup protection switch-off is activated again or
the central spout lowers until it touches the top of
the cup or glass again, please contact Miele.
If the cleaning container is sitting too close to the
panel behind the central spout, or even touches it, the
rim of the container will not be properly recognised by
the automatic spout adjustment.
Move the cleaning container forwards a little.
