The overhead cabinet depth, c, if unprotected, must not exceed 13" (330 mm). The minimum distance of combustible surfaces located above and to the sides of the cooktop, d, is 18" (457 mm). If the cabinet manufacturer recommends a greater distance, follow that manufacturers recommendation. -
